I remember when during the cold war this German kid flew his Cessna (?) all the way into Moscow, and landed unharmed in the middle of the Red Square...
I was told about an incident when a fighter pilot who ran out of fuel during Red Flag was told to eject rather than make an emergency landing at Groom. I can not reveal my source for this, but the account was rather credible.
