It is certainly possible to use a dish for satcom, but most sites have 4 or 5 antennas for this purpose. You can mount 5 helixes on a building without too much trouble, but dishs are another story. The X pole is just two dipoles with a phasing harness. Not as good as a helix, but it does the job. The intent is to get circular polarization. I rounded off to 250Mhz as I figured anyone who wanted to know the details would ask. Join this egroups list for more info:
