Well, coincidence or not, it was a nice spot where you could sit undisturbed for hours and monitor the activity. With binocs you could do an easy headcound of passengers getting off the Janets.
The best view, as far as casinos go, is from the Island tower if the Tropicana. Get a room on the 20th floor, facing the airport.
