You may want to check out a one page article in the latest issue of Popular Science or you can look up the patent at the link below. Apparently the Skunk Works is working on a low boom supersonic bizjet completely funded by a private investor. They think the investor is Warren Buffet, since he runs Netjets, which has around 500 bizjets for use (I don;t know if companies lease them by the hour, year, er whatever) but apparently business is good and some of his customers have indicated interest in a supersonic biz jet. As for the F-5E that was modified, it wasn't necessarily a low boom design, but a "lower" boom design that was used to validate their computer code. I often wonder if Lockheed has'nt already flown a low boom design already based on that one pic (Is it at this site?) of a very needle nosed delta winged aircraft photographed at high altitude?
