Thanks for the info! I'm assuming GFE is Government Furnished Equipment? Unfortunately, when I Googled GFE, that was nowhere near the top of the results... I have to admit I'm kind of surprised that the Nighthawks are still flown by active duty air force. Seems like an interesting assignment. I wonder how it fits into career progression. "Hey Lt (maybe Capt) So-and-So, you've done a good job here. For your next assignment, how do you feel about moving to the desert and flying an aircraft with no future -- in fact, it's already retired." Although maybe it's a cool follow-on tour for guys who've already done a tour in the 64th or 65th Aggressors.
