When Joseph Kosinski was scouting the base to shoot Top Gun Maverick, he claims during an interview that they initially told him that the hanger where the dark star pulls out of during the beginning of the film was off limits and to not point any cameras toward the area, and don't even look in their direction - a few days later they called him back and implied that whatever was in there had been moved and he could use the hanger; he also claims that they did wipe the memory from one of his cameras
