I just happened to notice that the flight patch features a silhouette virtually identical to Boeing NGAD design studies for which CG images have been publicly released (an NGAD fighter design teased by Lockheed Martin on Instagram last summer is similar in planform but differs in the exhaust section). Recently, a user on the social media platform X said mentioned that the Air Force is leaning towards selecting Boeing as the winner of the NGAD competition, so the US Air Force may be waiting until early 2024 to select a winner for the NGAD competition, especially as an NGAD contract award is expected in 2024.
