There is a handful of Chinook with destructive interference emitters onboard.

In short, the sensors measure the noise in a 90 degree arc ahead and behind, and send out energies that result in a barely audible 'shusshhhh Shushhhhhh Shushhhh....' that is so low that a street with a few cars and people on it would have it going unnoticed.
