I remember this being discussed on various sites back in the 1990-1992 timeframe where all they would say about it was that it was so technologically advanced that if it ever crashed on a mission wherever it came to rest would have to be "bombed back to the stone age" to keep the technology from getting into wrong hands. Then later that the Q was simply too expensive to produce en-masse. Somewhere in the intervening years I did see line art of what it was supposed to look like but can't recall where I saw it or where it was posted and I must not have saved a copy. It sure wasn't a craft optimized for speed based on my memory of the shape.
