Interesting discussion. It seems to me UAP is an attempt to rebrand UFO. No doubt there are flying objects observed that cannot be identified but very little (if any) evidence of extraterrestrial intelligence. However, these curious sightings should be taken seriously and investigated as potential threats to national security. We currently track thousands of pieces of space junk, it seems reasonable that we would want to get a handle on UAP or UFO or whatever.
