I wonder if the GE engine has a clear lead over PW in the engine program, and LM has decided to cast its lot with them, possibly bringing engine cost down by using the same basic engine for NGAD and F-35's, thus spreading the cost over a larger volume of production. I don't think LM has bowed out of the manned part of NGAD, I think it might be Boeing, as they might be concentrating their efforts in the Unmanned part of NGAD..Just a thought.
