That would be a big "No" on Northrup Strip ("White Sands Space Harbor"). There is nothing there but an unpaved runway on the dry lakebed and a few tin sheds adjacent to the old hardstand for the portable Space Shuttle Mate/De-Mate Device. There is vitally no infrastructure to speak of. It's a terrible place for any sort of sophisticated machinery, such as an airplane. The extremely fine and abrasive gypsum dust gets into everything. I don't think NASA ever completely cleaned it out of Columbia.
