As it is right now the traffic has easily increased tenfold over a year ago. It really would not bother us if people would stay out of the residential part of Rachel. But many tourists take a shortcut from the Inn to the backgate road that leads right through town. Some get lost and drive around town unaware that they are being closely watched by the locals. Apparently after driving 2 1/2 hours from Vegas they can't spend the extra 2 minutes that it takes to get back on the highway and take the backgate road at the stop sign instead of racing down our dirt roads. The tour companies, yeah that is another story. It is not uncommon any more to see three of their vehicles parked at the Inn at the same time.
