I was struck by the shape of the fuselage in figures 11, 12, 13 &15 of the patent. The Paul Allen Stratolaunch fuselage is the same shape. Now that may easily be coincidence, but the first time I saw Stratolaunch the fuselage shape stood out. Like most of us here (I suspect) I’ve been an aviation nut since I was a teenager...and I just don’t remember any other aircraft with this shape.

It appears Burt Rutan and Scaled Composites designed Stratolaunch. If we trust the internet, Rutan worked with Boeing on the X-37 in ‘96-97...so they did have some relationship.

Lots of speculation...and I may be wrong about the uniqueness of the shape, but fun to consider. What do you think?
