This is a case where google can be helpful. The EG&G of today is really nothing like the company the founders built. EG&G was a technology company, performing both manufacturing and engineering services. It was very diversified, owning small companies like Wakefield Engineering (heat sinks), Rotron (fans), Reticon (electro-optics), Princeton Applied Research (instrumentation), and probably 30 I can't recall from memory. Most of the optics got merged into Perkin Elmer. Al the small components companies were sold. What is left now is a small scale defense contractor.
