The article is nearly 10 years old. States like Utah and Nevada want the feds to give up profitable (i.e. taxable) land. I can't see much of a fight to save Tikaboo from the feds. Harry Reid won reelection in a landslide (61%), plus he is now minority speaker, a move done to tip the state. Health concerns after his "mini" stroke is a different issue. Incidentally, though basecamp stole more land, I haven't seen any attempt by them to fence off the land they stole. There are no indications that the land has changed hands. Of course, I don't cross the new borders. ;-) I suspect the operating base near Groom Lake would steal more land when they renew a public land order. This consolidates all the studies and paperwork. The basecamp expansion was done in such a manner. I think in a few more months the rehab of basecamp will be complete. There are maybe two more double wides being set up.
