Three terms to add to the scanner glossary: parrot = transponder Parrots can be sweet or sour (working or not working). Really, is all this jumbo necessary? ;-) An authentication code scheme was used in this flag, which I don't recall being used before. One plane couldn't authenticate but wasn't RTB'd. The EC-2 was used in the live bombing. I gather the B1b received it's tasking (target) via electronic link. There was some griping from "reaper" about erros on the screen.
