True, but gmail started before google went IPO. Speaking of gmail, if anyone would like an invite, I've got plenty. They've upped storage to 2GB and are promising 3 before the end of their second year of operation. I think the most useful part of using google maps, thus far, has been that it's consistantly accurate across the country- done well enough that if you ask for directions and switch into satellite mode, it gives you an accurate path projection right on top of satellite data. Worth a look. Pretty new images, too (I've identified that most of the San Francisco Bay Area is from 2002/2003 based on completed new construction in a few areas).
